Packaging Inks - Solvent Based

Solvent-based inks are formulated with organic solvent fluids for transporting pigmented inks that can "bite" into non-porous substrates such as vinyl, plastic, metal, producing UV-resistant and water-resistant prints suitable for outdoor signs and industrial markings because they are solvent-drying inks with good adhesion properties; however, they contain high amounts of VOCs requiring good ventilation in the work environment until the development of "eco-solvent" inks that have lower toxicity.
